SPONSOR A BLOOD DRIVE
How many donors do I need to have a blood drive?
Twelve or more committed donors depending on the size of your group. A full-day blood drive (up to six hours) can be held, or we can also come out for a half day with our bus (2-3 hours) and collect 12 or more committed donors. We have mobile units for outside drives. Inside drives are also available, where we set up in a room or hall that you designate.
When can I schedule a date for our drive?
When you have a commitment of donors, contact the Piedmont Blood Center to schedule a date. Blood drives are usually scheduled about two months in advance, but we may have an earlier opening in our schedule. Ask our recruiter. Some places even book blood drives a full year at a time. This will assure you have the dates you want.
Who can have a drive?
Any business, group, church or school that has the people willing to donate.
Select a blood drive Chairperson
The chairperson is responsible for hanging posters that we provide, and helping to recruit people to donate. The chairperson should be someone that has the time to devote to the blood drive. He or she would be our contact person. Our recruiters will assist in any way possible.
Specials for elementary and middle schools
We offer a pizza party for the class that brings in the most donors and a gift to the student with the most donors in his or her name. We will supply fliers and tickets for each student to bring home for friends and family members to donate in their name. We will send out a speaker from Piedmont Blood Center to speak in the classrooms of your choice. Help us to educate our children on the importance of donating blood.
Special pamphlets are available for churches that sponsor a blood drive.
To set up a blood drive, call Piedmont Blood Center and ask for one of our recruiters.
